Entry Tests

For NCAA and NAIA universities students must take a recognised university entry test. The most popular test is the SAT. 

Most US universities recruit for entry in the Spring Semester commencing January. For entry to a golf program by January 2012 tests should ideally be taken in December 2010 or Janaury 2011 but no later than May 2011 if possible.

For entry in the Fall Semester of 2012 commencing September tests should ideally be taken in October, November or December 2011. Taking a test in Janaury 2012 testing is late but not too late. Tests taken in May or June 2012 nwill be for re-sits or expedited entry for Fall 2012 or Janaury 2013.

Throughout the year SAT tests are available in June, October, November, December, Janaury and May. There are no tests available outside the USA in March. 

Testing after the January test date is definitely late for entry in the same year as the majority of scholarships are issued during February and March. US coaches quickly lose interest in players who have not taken an Entry Test and have the results at least 6 months prior to Admission.
