Admission
An invitation to apply to a university or college is not an offer of a golf scholarship.
The admissions process will run its intended course smoothly and without undue anxiety provided there are no delays sending 'transcripts' (original or certified copy certificates) or fully completed forms using guaranteed fastest means.
Most NCAA DI and DII institutions issue a National Letter of Intent (NLI) which is confirmation of a sports scholarship offer.
Those NCAA and NAIA institutions not participating in the NLI programme have different rules. Their Entrance or Admissions terms are nevertheless strictly controlled by Federal and State legislation and institutional rules . Prospective students in any event are responsible for ensuring that Entrance or Admission requirements are clearly understood.
When transcripts and clearinghouse forms (where applicable) have been completed the University Office of Admissions will issue a "congratulations" or "welcome letter", a countersigned Affidavit of Financial Support (AFS) or similar followed by an I-20 form.
The I-20 is a Certificate of Eligibility for Non-immigrant Status to accompany the application for Visa to the US Embassy in London where the student will be called to attend personally.
On a final note, the whole process can be complicated and extremely stressful unless you prepare early and take professional advice.
Never accept any verbal promises from your coach or a US coach about a golf or any other scholarship.
PASS4 GOLF Scholarships have the professional knowledge and experience of every step in the recruitment and admissions procedures you can trust.
